Before you think it I'm not thinking of getting on...but are they really as bad as we all think?
BMW normally engineer their vehicles quite well and have good design touches so I'm sure it must have it's good points.

Has anyone actually ridden one without being in the ridicule frame of mind?
Or has anyone got one and hasn't admitted it?

Weather it's good or rubbish they should have made a larger capacity version for people with a full licence - to make it slightly more appealing.

They do make a larger capacity one - a full 200cc of 4 stroke power Smile.

Ooooo, the Eggmobile!

Even the 200cc version's power to weight (in comparison to other scooters) is quite poor, I seem to recall 0-30 times of around 5 seconds. Also, the physical size of the thing, with the combined top heavy weight distribution makes it difficult to handle in town - primarily where it's going to be used. The roof is of little use anyway; I believe you still have to wear a crash helmet in this country. Also, I wouldn't enjoy the prospect of being seat belted into a bike in the event of an accident, albeit the C1 having a roof and 'roll cage'.

The C1 is designed to attract car commuters to switch to two wheels, I believe it'll be easier/cheaper/more fun to run around on a regular scooter.

A biker buddy of mine's dad has one. I've never ridden it, but I've seen it, build quality looks good. I'd feel quite safe in one I think, albeit a little slow.

I see a bloke riding/driving one of these along Blackpool prom every morning.

Given that the wind, rain, spray, sand and lost children all get blown horizontally across the road, I don't know what use the little roof is.

I've always thought it would be cool to get one, reinforce the roof so that it was strong enough for you to roll a stoppie right over and then carry on going. Not sure I'd be volunteering to be the first person to try this; but I reckon it's do-able.

Another down side is that as they have a windscreen wiper, you can be ticketed by a Traffic Warden in certain districts where they're not s'posed to stick things to windscreens (and therefore anywhere on a bike) but can leave tickets under wipers...
