Just found this quote from Ride magazine about the MOTRAX SIRKA LOCK from this site
Quote:
...The Level-Three Attack is the clever stuff and allows the use of expensive battery-powered tools and a specialist picking tool. These attacks require tool knowledge and practice. Anything requiring a Level Three Attack should stop any opportunist thief or joy rider....

It would be nice to think that was the case huh?

My local bike thiefs/joyriders have one of these (probably stole it):

Which will cut through any chain that fits the hole in under 30 seconds.

I know this because I found the cut link from my 16tonne through hardened load chain sheared in two by just such a device

That's the one I've got. Seemed good and for a fiver it's not like it was an expensive lock!

I use it in conjunction with a D lock on the back, normally with that chain/rope stuff around something.

I went to the page where that pic is from... god! about £600 for one of those! oh well, I guess it's a good investment since you can recoup it with just a couple of stolen bikes. no, I'm not getting any ideas... just worried that even the mighty almax immobiliser won't stand up to that...
