125cc CBT

Hi i just wanted to see if you lot could clear up this problem for me, right im 16 now ill be 17 in october so if i did a CBT on a geared 50cc when i turn 17 would i be able to ride a 125c or would i need to do another CBT??

No mate you dont have to do another cbt when at 17 if you do it at 16. Your legally aloud to ride a geared 125 as soon as you hit 17. But your cbt lasts for 2 years

Thanks mate because i'm planning to do my CBT in the next few months before im 17, just wanted to know if i had to take another on so i didn't have to spend money on 2 tests.

I did my cbt last year on a scooter, now 1 year later im riding a rvf lol.

How long of riding a 125 do you think it should be till the average person choses to do the A2 test aswell if you dont mind answering that too.

As soon as i was 17 i did 3 days intensive training (9-4) and now i am ready to do my test. Or i guess as soon as you feel comfortable on your 125.

On my CBT cerificate, where it indicates which type of bike i can ride, it says MOPED.

Because it is for a moped will i have to do another CBT when i am 17 or will this one still be valid?

a moped is covered up to 125 i think or am i wrong??

Hopefully u are right, but i thought a moped was a 50cc restricted to 30mph.

But when i asked my CBT instructer if i needed to come back for another when i was 17 he said yes, so i am bit lost.

It details what type of bike you did it on, but there is only one CBT qualifaction. Pass it on a 50cc twist'n'go ped and if you're 17 you're entirely licensed to then ride home on a geared 125. Pass it at 16 on a 50cc and when you are 17 you're allowed to ride a 125 without any further training or tests.

Send an e-mail to the DSA to confirm that your CBT instructor is talking bollocks.
