last night had me first crash , i live in ashford (dont know if any of you know the area) and was heding towards egertn,
was riding down little country lanes as i come round the corner i was on my side he was on his , but i surpose it wasnt really wide enough i went down the side of his car (alfa Tspark) and my wheel front wheel hit his rear wheel sending me over the top, my lil moped went in the ditch and i landed on me knee (ouchy) then sorta went down on my hands n knees head butted the road came up n slided to a holt on me knee again,
had gloves helmet leather jacket on etc soo hands not that bad, cant move my knee waiting for sweling to go down, but they think i done some cartaglige damage, also brused me kidneys n few other bits n bobs, manged to get to me freinds house who took good care of me bless her, till my dad picked me up n took me to doctors, got treated for cunciousion n shock, got all the guys details and that so well see wha happens, only thing that is reallly upseting me now is mum wont let me get another bike, my moped is scrathced n indactors lights etc smashed n the bars r bent and i hink the forks are aswell, im only thrid party though Sad

Good to see you're ok though.

Isn't it "than that" not "then that"?

Still abit confused how the accident happened, the road wasnt wide enough, around the bend? is that right?
If so glad to hear you're OK, just learn to slow right down on tight blind bends and EXPECT someone to be thier, especially idiots who think that because its a 'country road' no ones gonna be on the other side Rolling Eyes

Its usually best to read your message before you post, so you spot missing letters etc lol.
By the sounds of it, he was going way too fast, live & learn from his mistake Thumbs Up

you need to be 18, so get saving, but remember the crash was probably his fault, so, insurance job on his policy! then you're quids in! thats if your mum lets you have another one Very Happy

I think you need to be 18 to sign a finance agreement, you could get your dad to co sign for you though.

Hi

Good luck getting it sorted. From what you say it sounds like it was your fault, I am afraid.

You do need to be 18 for finance (and even then a dealer finance scheme is an expensive way of getting money), but under 18 you can get it with someone signing as a guarantor.

All the best

Keith

arr crap , ok thanks,
one thing i wasnt sure of, he took pictures, but he told me not to move the bike, and hed already pulled into the hedges to stop making it look like he was as far over as he could get, were as wheni hit him he was 2-3 foot away from hedge,
dad suggested he could just be useing this to prove damage and not road persitions,
cheers
steve
i inculded a lil picture to help get the c of what happened, (please remember im no van gough Smile )

Hi

Firstly, are you injured, in as far as are you going to hospital / been to hospital? If so go to the police and report the accident. You legally MUST as soon as possible and within 24 hours in an injury accident. Tell the driver that you have done so (so that he can as well).

They will take a statement. Make very certain you say that the driver had moved his car before taking the pictures. Same to your insurance company.

To be fair he could well be just recording the damage and your road position.

Probably worth going along an taking pictures yourself, especially of any skid marks, etc.

I presume this was a left hand bend? If so what makes it sound wrong is that you hit him half way down his car, so it sounds like he was either across the road (and you say he was on his own side), or your attempts to brake saw you understeer into him.

All the best

Keith

Hate to say it but the Insurance companies will go knock for knock. It's your word against his and his photos won't be worth squat in court as you can say that he moved the car. Insurance companies love doing this as they can stitch you up on your renewal. Oh and before anyone says 'change companies' you might not be able to if a claim is still going through.

Be glad that you are OK, as I'm sure everyone is, and, most importantly, learn from the accident. If your Mum ever calms down, you will need that experience.

Cheers

Grim

Shit Steve sorry to hear that. Glad your ok though. Shame about the bike. Can't you insure and ride the AF1 now?

Your Mum will get over it soon. When I had my first crash my mum said that she didn't want me on it again, and said if I wanted a 125 I would have to have advanced riding lessons. This all soon passed within a week. Its just the shock of knowing that you could have been killed and she wants the best for you. Its a Mother thing.

As for the finance, get it done in your parents name. Razz
