Ohh joy...

Riding to work this morning then snap, throttle gone.

Took 40 mins to push bike back home and its very hilly where I live.

Had to get wife to come down and take my kit home.

By the time I got home I was wet with perspiration.

Then I phoned the AA (I didnt phone from where I broke down, because I thought I was going to have to go home and go to work in the car).

The AA came and did an excellent job, bloke was a biker himself and put a temporary cable on.

He then follows me to the bike garage, bad news is that the proper cables might take a few days, ie told it will either be tomorrow or 7 - 10 days. So no bike till then, fingers crossed its tomorrow.

ER5 right. It should have two branches to the throttle cable, one opens it, the other closes it.

If you find yourself in that situation again, just re-route the 'close' branch to take the place of the 'open' one, there is a spring that will close the throttle in place of the cable, just not as quickly. You can then replace the cable at your leisure.

Well I wish I hadn't pused it now.

My arms and legs ache like mad.

Just hope its a day to fix, not the 7 to 10.
