Been doing loads of research on the TRX but still got a few questions before spending out on one.

a) Whats the acceleration like? Anyone know 0-60 times?
b) The problem with cylinder head wearing, is it REALLY common?
c) Ride height and bike presence, is it a tip toe job or monkey bike style? Im 6' 1".
d) Is ground clearance respectable since the CB-1 gives out pretty quickly.
e) I hear top speed is around 110mph? That about right?

All this in comparison to a CB-1 not a sports 600. I was thinking 80bhp from maybe 50bhp on the CB would be respectable. Im not bored of it just bored of the sound and changing gears all the time.

I know alot of them would be answered with a test drive but no dealers round here have one. If someone round Luton has one and could give me a pillion that would be ace.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Dont know any figures regarding 0-60, but by all accounts the TRX is a superb bike.

Dont know of any cylinder head problems. Who told you it was a common problem?

At 6'1" I think you'd fit on it just fine.

I've heard of people tracking them, so would have to assume that ground clearance is acceptable. What do you want from it?

Top speed is in the 140s, as far as I'm aware.....

As far as I'm aware its a top bike. But I guess it depends what you're looking for.....?

Just looking for something to have fun on.
Country roads, commuting, hooning and long distance treks.

The cylinder head problem I've read on various sites. Say it's due to valve clearance's and not torqued down properly. I have no idea what any of that means, thus me asking.

Although the horsepower increase isnt massive, the difference in torque and the torqueband will be massive-the CB1 will feel like a 2 stroke by comparison.

The 850 TDM is know for occasional head wear and gearbox issues-but regular oil changes and getting your clearances done regualrly should keep this in check.

This looks like a very smart buy, I checked it out not too long ago.

They are very under rated bikes aparantly very good.

But the downside is selling them on is quite hard to do!

The brakes are a very weak point but often are upgraded to R1/Fazer brakes.

Any calipers from the Thundercat/thunderace/TDM900/early R1 will fit and improve things no end.
