The GPZ500 has Dunlop Arrowmax tyres on it currently, they are good enough tyres with reasonable grip and they have a lot of tread left in them. The only thing is that there is a small leak in them both and every week or fortnight you need to inflate them back up to 30 as they are usually sitting at 15 somewhere. I was thinking about getting them sealed but failing that how much would a half decent set cost me? Not talking race slicks here just a nice cross of good grip and wear? The rear tyre is a 130 section can't remember the front. What are BT45s like?

GPR70 and GPR80 are worth a look if you can get them in your sizes (know they do a 140 GPR80, dunno about the 130 though).

I've always used BT45's on my NSR125 and they've been marvellous compared to the Pirellis that were on the bike originally. I'm picking up a rear BT45 tomorrow for my GSX600 so I'll let you know if THAT's any good. Thumbs Up

My ER-5 has a pair of BT45's on it.

I think they are quite good, plenty of grip and last a good while.

Dual compound too. Hard in the middle for straight line riding, but soft on the outer edges for good cornering. Thumbs Up

I'd probably end up fitting them myself, would they cost any more than about 120-130 for a set?

I priced a BT45H 150 70 17 for £96 including fitting and balancing, with the wheel off the bike. The front is going to be cheaper than that.

What does the H mean then? Besides, I'm putting a 140 80 17 on the back, that's the recommended tyre for it. I just happened to receive the 150 70 17 price while getting a price for a 140. The 140 70 17 is £91 including fitting and balancing.

Ah thanks mchaggis, that's OK then. My bike only does about 135mph anyway, and I only usually do a maximum of 110. Thumbs Up
