hi all,
I passed my CBT a few months ago on a geared 125 bike, The insructor was a useless twat and didnt teach me anything i didnt allready know, although im sure theres a lot of things which im probably not doing 'right'. The idiots didnt even have enough bikes for all 3 of us that was taking our CBT.......anyway after i passed my cbt i got a cagiva mito 125 and rode it for about 2 weeks before it started to piss out oil along with a load of other problems and i had enough of it and got rid quick before anything else went wrong. Since Then due to lack of money ive been riding around on my suzuki ay50 and its really starting to do my head in... so heres my question, How much experience on average is needed to pass the DAC test, and is there any faster way of doing it without riding round on a 125 for the next 6 months? im 17 by the way and thanks in advance Thumbs Up

No experience; usually the experience you have, the more bad habits you have. You could take it next week if you wanted with the right amount of training.

It is the restricted full licence by the way, not the DAS.

I can't really give a certain amount of time before a provisional rider is 'experienced' enough to take a test. I just took my test once I felt confident that I'd make a good effort at it, and low and behold, I passed with 2 minors - that was 5 weeks after passing my CBT back when I was 17.

If you feel confident enough to consider taking your test, why not give it a go. If you pass, you pass - bigger bikes beckon. If you fail, just take it as part of your learning curve and try again next time. No harm done, all part of the learning experience.

Your instructor will tell you whether your right or wrong.

Just remember that they will be teaching you to pass the bike test, not how to ride your bike (you would fail your bike test for using the width of the road to improve your view round a bend, for example). A conscientious instructor should correct your bad habits but they may not if you look like you will pass the test with those habits.

A test pass lets you out on the road, then you start to learn how to ride a bike Very Happy

Cheers

100% confident eh?

Sounds like me and quite probably alot of people on here when they first had a 2 stroke 125.
Im alot less confident than I was then on my bike but I'm alot faster, experience not confidence is more important IMO.

In other words stick with 125 for the mo, I wish I still had mine. Was a good laugh.
