I try to use the ratings conservatively. Well, I make a point of remembering to rate something if it stands out above the rest of the posts. How ever I don't see that as a main part of reading the forum.

If you're asking people to rate your posts, would you be happy for lots of people to rate your posts down as well?

Remember, while it does have an effect on your karma, that is not the primary reason for the ratings system, from the way I see it.

The way I see it, the rating system is an alternative to saying 'I like/don't like your post' - so that people can get an idea of how others view their posts with out lots of one liner 'ROFL' style posts.

In the end I write posts for the sake of conversing with other people; if I got a lot of bad ratings I would take notice, otherwise I'm happy enough to use the forum as just that; a 'forum' for talking to other bikers.

And yes I'm waiting for people to point out that I've got such and such a colour karma, so I'm standing on my high castle, blah, blah : roll :.

Why oh why does it matter? Please! Save your dignity mate and leave it! I don't really like to use the karma system, it doesn't really tell the person who they are.

Honestly. Does all of your pride lie in the colour and number of your blobs? Please dude...This is jsut beginning to show you as attention seeking and I don't mean to say that in a nasty way as most of the time you're "cool"!
