Did have one a while ago.
https://www.yamaha-rd.com/forum/ is a good place for a lot of info about them.
Mine was the F2, which had a 'restricted' top end. I didn't find it /that/ exciting - but then the bike I was riding before was a tuned zx9 . |

Which one you got? Got any piccies?
I always liked the early LC2 ones with the belly pan and nose fairing. Mine was streetfightered and finished in metalflake purple. A ballhair off a full stage 3 tune, full micron race system rearsets, jacked up exhaust brackets, gasflowed head and powervalve. The purple renthall drag bars to hold the fecker down with, you had to ride it with your chest over the clocks if you cracked it wide open to keep the front-end down.
Best ever moment was pissing all over my mates new ducati monster on it. Kept pace with him in first and second without dipping into the powerband then held it open in third until the scenery blurred. Looked over my shoulder as I hit the ton to give him the finger Boy was he pissed off
Good job I don't still have it really. No self-control when you put me on one of them. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

It was my brothers RD that got me into bikes:
The noise from the servos on ignition.
The noise from the Micron cans he fitted.
The way it ate pistons.
The bonkers power delivery.
Magic stuff. ____________________ Space Monkey #7

Hi, I have the R model - like a F2 but with twin headlamp fairing.
The YPVS - powervalve system actually reduces the on-off feeling you get with the plain LC's (hence a bit of debate over which is better) to make it more rideable through the midrange.
Also worth considering are reed spacers and/or a boost bottle - speak to Nigel at NK Racing www.nkracing.co.uk
I have fitted Tokico 4 pot calipers, with adaptor plates from Nigel, which with HEL brake lines improved the feel from the brakes no end. If you fancy a Stainless Steel chainguard I know where one can be had.
Cheers

AAAAAAAAAAAaaannnd to the unsuspecting eye, it looks like a cagiva mito.
Uber Sleeper.
I would love a go on one, but it seems like the kind of bike to spit you off mid wheelie... Not that anyone on this forum would no of course
Nearly looped the cbr friday for some unknown reason, power wheelie, holding fine, then the front flew up. I think i went over a ramp or such. But the thought of that on a two stroke 350... Im getting the adrenalin flush just thinking about it actually. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Possibly, but first thing is to check your clutch cable and make sure it isn't too loose. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S
