Bought two tyres last week, Bridgestone Battlax, if you remeber yesterdays post of the glass all over the road where i put my bike in a lock up. Well, the glass i swept up, but as i put the bike in i checked the tyres.
I can see what looks like the head of a nail, one of those ones with the small head not a flat one.
WTF can i do??? I dont get paid for ages and i am all out of money. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Get em plugged. (About £15 if I recall).
I used to commute on my old bike every day. That had Battlax's on, at any one time, I'd have 2 plugs and at least 3 nails in them. Rarely did over 50 so I took the chance.
Oh, I'd suggest 'Tyre Slime' too. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |

Crikey, I didn’t know there were any options at all.
Cheers guys.
What the hell is a plug, and does it only work at low speed then?
Puncture repair sounds good, how does that work?
If I left It in the tyre, what would happen? ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

A plug is a permanent fix if done properly.
I had a massive bolt through my rear tyre about a week after it was put on. Took it to the garage, and they fixed it for me. Took the tyre off, plugged it from the inside, put it back on - good as new!
I've done 155mph on the plugged tyre, without consequence.
Go get it fixed! ____________________ <Simple> no I'm shaven Jon

Hi
There are limits on what can be repaired, but with a single small puncture in the middle you should be fine.
What they use looks like a small cocktail umbrella, with the fan out bit being rubber and the stem being part metal and part rubber. They bore the hole out a bit, thread the stem through the hole and pull it through so the umbrella bit surrounds the hole. It is then all bonded in place.
I think it is against the British Standards to repair a Z rated tyre, but people will ignore that and you probably have an H rated tyre anyway.
If you are lucky the it is not actually a nail or is just the very end and has not gone through.
All the best
