I know that this has prob been posted before,

I was just wondering what do you prefer left of right bends?

I would only say right because of roundabouts and it is now easy to get my knee down on each and every roundabout but generally i prefer left hand bends.

Although if you bin it on a leftey you are heading towards the oncoming traffic, but then again knowing that could mean that i concentrate more.

need to go to france Twisted Evil

Cool

I swing both ways, personally. Though, a closer inspection of my rear tire leads me to believe I prefer lefts, as the tread is a bit more shallow against the leftern-most edge. Incidentally, an even closer inspection of my body work reveals that my bike spends most of it's time on it's side.

Both. I don't see the point going round and around and around roudabouts just to scrub in the right hand side of my tyres. Just blat down a nice back road with tight corners and get both sides glued to the roads. Motorcycle cornering is one of the highlights of my biking.

I have a more natural body position when i lean to the right, i don't know why, it just feels more comfortable. I can get just as low on left corners though.

I can do KD on either and my rear tyre looks to be equally worn, so I would go for the 'both' option. If there was one of course Very Happy

I like going round a well designed and cambered corner with a good even road surface, doesn't really matter which way.

I suppose I am slightly faster through right handers because it is easier to get tuck right into the kerb so you can see further round them as you go in. Seeing further round means you can brake later, brake less and get on the power sooner.

I am faster at right handers but I think left handers feel nicer. Work that one out.

Definately more comfortable on leftys. Although I think because here in Aus we're on the left hand side of the road and obviously if you're taking a left turn you're more likely to not have to cross on coming traffic, you have right of way and usually it makes for a tighter turn which requires a bit more lean.

Thats a fair point, however when I'm out for a ride its more about the journey then the destination. So a couple of extra corners enroute tends to brighten the ride just enough to have me grinning like loon under my lid Very Happy

By the way... On my CBT my instructor was telling me to try and keep my head vertical during a corner... What does this mean? (I couldn't do it very well but turned fine)

I prefer left handers, not sure why though, probably due to the oncoming traffic in right handers

I do that, i noticed on some trackday photos. My head is always level with the ground. I think thats what your instructor is saying anyway.

I'm getting annoyed with roundabouts. It's always a right hander, I NEED more left handers. Just to even it out mind, not because I rather a lefty. Thumbs Up

PS. I didn't vote because it doesn't have 'i like all bends'. Razz

i think most people prefer lefties mainly because of being closer to the traffic on the other side of the road on righties - where it seems like you are leaning towards them more Confused

I feel more comfortable in left handers, I think its beacuse my throttle hand is free but i have got the pegs scraping on both sides so i can push it just as far either way! its just personal preference i suppose.

I'm happy with both now but took me a while to get confident at right handers. I've hit too many wing mirrors with ma head. Rolling Eyes

I chose the 'neither' option - because I'm a big poofta who is scared of corners and should probably be on a cruiser, rather than a sports bike!

And yes, I AM ashamed of myself!
