Made an arse of myself today, crashed the CBR for absolutely nothing.

Heres the story, and like a comedian 'Ive had a hard day getting here'.

I stayed at my gf's house last night and took all my stuff for work with me. Except my pass. On my way home this morning I remember and start to head home. Theres two junctions that lead to my road, one that I never use and a more direct one. This morning I took the one I never use. I start to turn left then BANG im down and skidding across the road. Done nothing I havent done a thousand times and Im off. I pick the bike up (again) and theres oil pissing out of the generator cover, seems Ive clipped a little curb and its taken the brunt. I go back to view the scene and my scratches start from the white lines. Im Guessing a combination of long dry weather followed by sudden rain, and the lines being slippy anyway, has caused the front end to fold and the rest followed.

So the outcome of the nightmare so far is new generator cover, fairing fucked (dont really care about that tbh) and the gear selector snapped! Hard as nails these hondas.

All my gear did its job very well, so Im pleased about that. Im not hurt apart from a comedy injury to the tip of my little finger.

Never mind eh? So I get home, tell my mother about it and instead of asking If I was ok she starts telling me how bad the bike is. Then I get to work and everyone takes the piss, then some batty cow knocks a cup of coffee all over me at the dinner table.

Like I said todays been hard. I need a hug Laughing

thanks for reading Wink

carburettas!

I forgot to mention (trying to save face now) that I didnt cry and my slide was rather graceful! I rather skillfully held onto the bike with the clutch pulled in so I could get back up and maybe finish in the points too! I wish, I actualy clung on to the bike for dear life - I think it was just a case of the captain 'going down with his ship'.

On a serious note a lot of people stopped to help so thanks to them Thumbs Up and also a lot of people stopped to look and laugh so Thumbs Down to them too!

If you still had that Hornet there wouldn't be half as much damage! Wink

Unlucky mate, at least you picked yourself up and dusted off. Sounds like you did have a hard day hehe.

Cheers dude but the thing is the CBR is MINE so ive got no probs with crashing it, the hornet was an 03 and belonged to someone else!!

Although it sounds completely backward I think the fairings did a good job of protecting the engine!

In the Times and Star they're asking drivers to sign a speed pledge to say you will never go over the speed limit. Now if that means they are gonna sell all the scamera vans if we all sign then where's the fookin queue Very Happy

Sounds a bit like SORN declarations then. A totally meaningless exercise in wasting paper.
