The buyer of my CB250 through eBay is in Dublin - does anyone know what the procedure is for transferring ownership to someone in the RoI? Presumably the normal "change of keeper" bit on the V5 isn't enough?

In which case I'd guess that you'd need to contact the DVLA (whether using the form on the V5 or not) and tell them it is to be exported to a country in the EU.

How it gets registered across the water would have to be the buyers problem I guess. Smile

I guess so. I was a bit confused in that I can see what I would do if I was taking it abroad myself, but not what to do if the export and keeper change happen at the same time Confused

Hi

Think there is a section to fill in on the V5C for a vehicle that is being exported.

However, I would make sure you get some photocopies of the documents in advance as the buyer may well greatly appreciate these to make it easier to register in Ireland.

All the best

My mate recently bought a car from the auctions, which had a northern ireland plate, to make matters worse it was registered as a disabled car.

Took him a couple of weeks to sort it and a few trips to the DVLA in Leeds.
