Hi
About a year ago I sold my R6, sent off all the stuff, job jobbedm so i thought.
About 2 months ago recived tax reminder, didnt look at it properly cause i thought it was for the bandit which isnt up till this month.
Woops
Get a letter this moth saying ive got to pay £40 fine for not taxing the R6? They say im still registered
I cant remeber the name of the guy i sold the bike too, nor have any of his details, and he had never got in contact with me asking for the V5?
What do i do, pay the fine declare the bike sorn for the rest of my life, declare it scrapped? or write a letter to the dvla explaing?
The bloke i sold the r6 for said he would probaly use it as a track bike (he basically sold track bikes) so its probably not on the road.
Will i get bollocked by the dvla, i sent off the yellow slip after i sold it, and forgot about it.
Cheers

I would write a letter to the DVLA saying you sold the bike and returned the correct V5 part. You expected the buyer to do the same.
Guess you're just lucky there hasn't been any fun and games with the bike, otherwise you'd have got all the speeding / ticket fines as well.
I know this doesn't help you now but FWIW for the future I did do some 'bill of sale' stuff that others added to - click this link - download examples from the bottom of the thread. At least you'd have some other document to send to the DVLA. As said, for future use, might help others ____________________ ...and the whirlwind is in the thorn trees, it's hard for thee to kick against the pricks...
