Hi, Im wanting to do some basic servicing on my bike today and have been looking through my haines manual at servicing the air filter which seems simple enough. However, its says that to clean the element it should be washed in solvent. What kind of solvent?? can anybody help me here? and also what other basic servicing can I do? Thanks for any help

It recommends a solvent because you would be cleaning it and putting it back.
If you did it with water it would be damp for ages.
You can clean it in a bit of petrol, it evaporates in minutes.
