Well, finally managed to get my arse into gear after all these years and actually book a test, so I've got a day's training tomorrow and then my test on thursday.

I'm doing the 33bhp restricted licence by the way, so I asked if I could use my bike which is (apparently Wink) restricted to 33bhp. I was told that you HAVE to take the test on a 14.6bhp machine, so I'll be using a Yamaha YBR125 supplied by the training school. So I'm doing a test to ride on a 33bhp machine on a 14.6bhp bike, now if my bike was restricted to 33bhp I'd be jumping instantly onto a bike that's double the power anyway?

I'm taking my test in Chelmsford.

Just hope I pass so much, I've had my ZXR sat in the garage for a month now without being able to ride it Evil or Very Mad.

Cheers mate. I feel confident anyway, as I've been riding on the road for a few years and I feel pretty comfortable. And when I re-did the CBT for this test he said I rode really well. Glad I've got a day and a half of training to be honest, my test is at 3.27 on thursday, so they said get here for 9 and we'll take you out all day and then ride down to the test centre (which is about an hour or so on the A130 on a YBR125 Sad).

It's definately a lot nicer having someone ride with you to the test centre, and very good having ana instructor point out where you may lose a few marks. I had IanGPX give me a few free lessons (Thankyou Ian!) where he pointed out my lack of lifesavers and road positioning, very confidence boosting where you start doing it right.

Anyhoo I'm off to sell my bike... somehow. Good luck!! Let us know how it goes! Smile

What sort of stuff do they look for? Is it just a case of doing your lifesavers, positioning etc. and then they ask you to perform a few manoeuvres?

U-turn without putting foot down, emergency stop (remember ot do lifesaver to both sides when you go to pull the bike to the side of the road, they'll be looking for that), general handling (gears, steering, speed changes, hesitations) and observation.
