Major geek hardware:

1 x Sun Ultra Enterprise 450 containing:

4 x 300Mhz UltraSparc 64-bit CPUs
512MB memory
2 x 18GB SCSI HDDs
2 x 9GB SCSI HDDs
room for loads more
SCSI CD-ROM
3.5" FDD
graphics card (ATI Rage 3D)
10/100 onboard NIC
dual power modules

also included:

Sun-badged 19" Sony CRT monitor
6-tape autochange robot with tapes
Solaris 10 (not installed)
Gentoo Sparc Linux (installed)
Sun keyboard & mouse

Height 58.1 cm (22.87 in.)
Width 44.8 cm (17.64 in.)
Depth 69.6 cm (27.40 in.)
Weight 94.0 kg (205 lb.) - that's half the weight of a bike, ffs!

This thing is a monster. Anything that needs 2 people to lift it is not a PC.

On the plus side, when it's running, it's probably quieter than your bike. Probably.

Anyway, it's got to go and £600.00 will make me feel better about letting it go. Or if you've got a bike that would like to live out its days as a commuting hack in exchange, let me know.

Buyer collects, obviously - but don't turn up in a Fiat Panda and hope to arrive back at your place with the suspension intact. Laughing Laughing

If you have to ask, you wouldn't understand the answer... Laughing

Drooling

But alas I could never ever concieve spending that kind of money on a toy that I would barely use. Plus if I was going to get some big iron, i'd want to go _really_ big(seen some massive HP9000 server/arrays going on eBay cheap before). Plus Suns are a bit too common for true unix-nerd credibility Cool (unless you're talking pre-sparc era stuff Thumbs Up )

Would be ideal for anyone wanting to startup their own (very large) hosting company Laughing
