Great torquey engine. Brakes are known to be a problem requiring regular strip and cleaning. Handling is good.

Id say for that money, worth it - cosmetics can always be tidied up so long as engine is strong and has not been seriously damaged in crash.

It's a nice twin, I think they're very nice looking bikes. G's recently bought one.

They pop up on ebay from time to time but for a fair bit more than that. There's a few threads on them, give it a search.

Make sure valve clearance checks have been adhered to, especially on older models. Think the older ones have problems with the cylinder heads...well....around that area anyway. Just make sure there's no odd noises from the engine.

Cracking bikes, I only lost out on one in an auction a month or two ago so bought a hornet instead.

I wouldn't say the engine has a massively broad range of torque - it still does need to be revved to get going properly.
Same as most 'sports' twins really, though.

Only a bit more torque than a sports 600, but a fair bit less power - a lot less money as well though, which is always good Smile

I haven't had the chance to try mine out properly yet as it still has macadams on Sad

(race scrubs will be aquired when I have money!)

Definitely good value for money though, so I'd reccomend Smile
