Police riders ride VERY fast and totaly safe...
BUT, they ride totaly controlled, do not take risks, ride aiming to get 100% certainty before makeing an overtake e.t.c.
However apply trackday "fast" to the road and your going to end up dead, knee downs are all very well on tracks but on roads here you'd have your leg ripped off on the crappy surface if you manage to avoid the lorry going arround the horse in the middle of the road, useing a raceing line will put you right in it as well.
Personally i stick to limmits, looseing my licence is not an option, without it i'd be farked royally, 6 points and its gone..
Fast depends on allot, i'm affrid most "fast" riders out there are just waiting to get theirself in trouble with the law or a ditch, fast rideing when its done propperly is perfectly safe, unfortunately allot of the time its riders rideing past their observation and controll skills. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

Riding a bike fast does not mean you are dangerous...
People can ride bikes safely at speeds greater than most of us can even reach. It depends on the rider, not the speed you are going at. If your an idiot doing 150mph then the odds are your going to be doing something dangerous... but if you are a 'good' rider then you can happily cruise at 150mph without causing any danger to yourself or other road users.
And on the subject, you dont have to be riding fast either to be dangerous... on the flip side i find people that are riding slower than speed limits dangerous as they are a hazard to the people following... or those odd little folks that get intimidated and dont go any faster than 40mph on motorways and dualies... ____________________ CBT Aug '03 ... I ride fast where I think it is safe to do so, some people ride fast and don’t take into account how safe they are.
Cagers and others who see a bike tearing down a road say it’s dangerous but you can’t say anything unless you’re riding it yourself.
As said before, riding on most roads over the speed limit disregarding traffic laws is dangerous. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

Riding fast is dangerous if you are in a built up area, or on a dodgy road surface ( like 99% of the roads in England). However, on a warm deserted sunday afternoon with sticky tarmac, on a country lane where you can clearly see round the corners, let it rip - that way it's only you who will end up in a hedge if you over-estimate your potential ____________________ www.bikepics.com/members/jackcheese <--- NOW FOR SALE! 51 Plate Cagiva Planet 125
