Right where do I start.
Riding home from work yesterday as normal. Following another biker away from the lights we came to a stationary bus at a bus stop, with stationary car traffic on the right.
So I go past the bus and notice another bus in front of the first one. then at that moment BANG a pedestrian walks through the two busses into me. This threw me right towards the cars but natural reaction is to pull left, this took me slam into the bus slid along it and stopped in front and managed to keep it upright.
Got off the bike went back found out that a woman of about 25 had walked between the 2 busses into me, she was not too bad apart from deep cut over eye and a bit battered and bruised.
The police and ambulance turned up, all the people who saw what happened blamed her as did the police .
The bike has just got scratches from hitting the bus and I am a bit bruised.
It could have been worse.

Pedestrians should have to get a license before they are allowed to walk around the place causing accidents. ____________________ Current - '94 VFR750FR (Dead), '00 VFR800FI, '11 600 Hornet - Previous - '11 CBF125, '10 Street Triple R, '92 MZ ETZ301, '05 TTR250, NSR125R, KMX125, "Honda" Win

Bloody hell mate, what a loon.
You couldn’t have done anything to avoid it, I don’t think she’ll be doing that in a hurry again.
Glad your ok Russ, yeah could have been worse.
Hey, lucky you had some witnesess
I once avoided a child, she looked at me as I was coming down the road, she looked away, then just stepped out.
I literally had to steer right, and then left so the handle bars went around her, she was about 11yrz old. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

I am no lawyer - but do have a law background... but I say yes - I am sure that she will have to pay for the damage to you, the bus and the bike....
Did you get whiplash by any chance???!?!?
It could take a while tho in my experience... you will be lucky to get it sorted in under 2 years.... unless she decides to pay you without solicitors and court appearances.
Good luck!
(bear in mind - I could be wrong). ____________________ Where there is a wheelie there is a way.... |

| Quote: | I can't believe someone could be so oblivious as to just walk out into the road without even looking, makes you wonder what could have happened had she been pushing a pram or push chair |
A couple of years ago i was riding through a country park at about 15/20 mph when i woman DELIBERATELY shoved her pram, with baby on board, into my path.
I managed to miss her, but i still dont know what the hell she was thinking. Even if she thought that i was perhaps going too fast, did she really think it was worth risking her baby's life (and mine and hers) to tell me that?!
Pedestrians. Unbelievable.

I hit a bloke with my mirror and shoulder when he ran out between parked cars, the next day a woman did exactly the same thing at exactly the same spot but i managed to avoid her.
Both had headphones on and both of them didn't bother to look. They were more concerned with getting to work than staying alive.
The other thing that gets me is people crossing sideroads, just as you turn down them. I'm amazed how people don't take responsibility for their own safety and rely on the judgement of others.

Follow Up
Took my ZZR to the garage yesterday after my prang with the kamikazi pedestrian and collision with the bus.
Luckily there are no problems with the bike at all Just a few scratches, so all in all things are ok.
The only problem I have now is whether the bus company tries to make a claim against my insurers then I wil have to claim of the pedestrian, time will tell ____________________ knock on the devils door and HE will answer............... |
