Hi

Heres a question. Personally the number plate on a vehicle does not bother me much at all. I might pay a small amount extra for one but certainly not £250. How much is everyone prepared to pay for a personal number plate (assuming current or reasonably forseeable finances)?

All the best

Keith

only up to 500 if it was a good one and I had run out of things to spend my money on. Almost bought one for the car last year, but then thought.....hmmmm that could pay for my DAS. Best decision I have ever made! Thumbs Up

I have to say personalised plates, to me, are the most pointless gimmicks I have ever come across. I actually laugh when I see a really "good" one as I think..."hmmm, bet you spent the better half of £x0,000 on a small, worthless plate". Good on the dvla, I say. Cracking idea. Taking advantage of folks desire to be attention whores and have something that shouts...."this belongs to me". Basically showing other road users that I have money Confused

I would pay extra to have a normalplate.

Of course my bike at the moment has a private plate but it's just S93 DFG or something to that extent. Nothing that really means anything. It was there when I bought it. Smile

I probably wouldn't ever buy a personal plate. If i did it would either be a) as a present for my partner, b) for my dream bike i had just taken ownership of.

I wouldn't spend over £250. It's only some letters on a bit of plastic! Rolling Eyes

since the DVLA releases them Starting at £250, I reckon you'll find it hard to get one for less than that, unless you're buying it off someone else who just wants to get rid.

I'd be inclined to pay the thick end of bugger all.

was £250 though, one of the cheaper ones from the DVLA.

Wouldn't pay owt really... private plates are usually shorter/more recogniseable which means police could poss read it easier or someone could report you easier for petty things etc.. may not happen but it's possible...

My dad has his initials on his plate with V1 XXX (initials) on the jaguar and V2 xxx on the truck Laughing sad I know but it keeps him happy Laughing

My old R6 had my initials on it Embarassed Embarassed but I didn't pay for it so can't complain Wink

I quote fancy MCJ4M actually, but first I'd have to buy a car to fit it to. Don't know about cost, probably nothing right now.

I am a self confessed attention seeker. I like the fact not many people like them or even want them, makes mine all the more special! Wink

Fook it, i like mine.........not into noisy cans, race paint, annodised bits etc so i thought why not. It makes me smile so what does it matter, every plate is individual, the new style ones for example 'OU51MXE' give too much away like the area where its originating from, birth date to within 6 months blah blah blah.

I reckon name ones are boring, but words can be vaguely amusing.

Saw R1 5OLD on a bmw the other day... think he was trying to tell us something?

There's a CBR round here with T15 MYN which always makes me chuckle.

And an R1 we saw the other day had R1 6SXR which seemed to be missing the point slightly.
