Just Picked up my CB500!

Wow, lol. Just rode my CB500 back from the garage and its soooo much more powerful... I prolly sound like a raving looney but after sitting on a 125 for nearly 2 years, you kinda get used to the power output.

Unfortunately its not taxed and i only managed to get my insurance sorted this morning so no cover note = no tax... i rode it back home and am trying to get the insurance company to fax me over the note and see if the post office'll lemme do it that way... if not, looks like i gotta wait until monday Sad

I did a couple of overtakes and ended up lifting the front wheel as the rev counter shot through 8k, its a little wierd getting used to leaving it in lower gears and i kept short shifting due to being used to having to change gear so much to get up to 60...

Now i gots myself an excuse to go on some ride outs... will havta check out MCN and see whats happening soon...

Sweet - congrats. Looking forward to taking delivery of your 125... many insurance quotes being obtained at moment!

Here's a tip though... if you get your ins. company to fax you a copy of your cover note, make sure you trim off the bit at the top detailing the fax numbers sent to and received and stuff. I tax a lot of cars for a living, and know that the PO can be real muppets about things like that! At least, they are around here... Wink

I doubt he would of done it intentionally, and I also heard that the CB has a powerband around 8K rpm so it must have been under the power.

It's just I had to ask, as I doubt you could wheelie a CB500 of the power Confused

I have ridden one a couple of times, and it never felt it was about to lift at all.

Perhaps since your not used to a bike getting lighter at the front end under acceleration you thought you got the wheel up?
