 |
|
Hi all,
After reading the recent posts regarding identity tags (dog-tags) containing emergency information for solo road riding, track days etc, I decided to order some.
I can thoroughly recommend this following link https://www.militarykit.com/products/military_accessories/dog_tags.htm
or www.militarykit.com if the link don't work.
For £6.99, they will stamp them with 15 characters per line, 5 lines per tag, and post them recorded delivery. Mine took 2 days to arrive and are spot on, not 1 mistake, and all letters have been pressed clearly into the tag. Well chuffed.
So there we go |

It may be worth putting your blood group on there as well (if you know), it could have saved a friend of mine a few years ago.
I carry a little card in my wallet which comes with me everywhere, that states:
Name
Date of Birth
Next of Kin
Blood Type
Allergies
GP Name |

Id only say as well, and its a very minor point and a bit trivial.
Dont have any military markings on them if you are not in the military. I know of people that have "Delta Force" or "SAS" written on them, when they really are just Cadets or things like that. I could be wrong here, but i believe that dog tags could come under the uniforms act, making it an offence to use dog tags to make it seem as if you are a military person.
If your wearing them as Medical alert tags though it will be completely and you'll have no hassle.
Oh and the 15 character limit i believe is because the tags are small and round! I dont think you could fit more then 15 per line! |

I expect most of you know this one but just in case, most of us carry a mobile phone so in your contacts put ICE and the phone number of loved one, next of kin etc. Spotted that in MCN last week. I used to wear a Talisman bracelet because I am disabled and on loads of medication but I dont wear it anymore - spose I should really. ____________________ Ride with the music! |

I don't *need* them, but a little part of me deep down inside wants black ones with yellow padding. |

15 characters per line fits on the tag with about 1mm either side. Most of my lines were 15 characters, I liked to get my £6.99's worth
Even after a few days I'm still chuffed to bits with them. Funny how some things affect you, bit like a new Zippo or penknife. |
