I assume it's called a crank case cover or something similar. Scaped through it on a left hand slide and oil started spewing out.

Thats an engine cover, probably covering the end of the crankshaft.

No. 25? Magneto cover part no. 11351 - 18G01

You may be able to mend it with sort sort of 'instant metal', depends how much damage you've done.

I cracked mine last week when I came off. For a honda CBR600 with a gasket it was £45. Nice little job to change it except all the oil pissed out everywhere when I cracked it, so it was another 25 quid for some oil and 6 for an oil filter!

flush the engine with parfin to get the shit out.

after the cover is repaired, fill the engine up with the required amount of parfin (just like you would with oil, BUT DO NOT RUN THE ENGINE) and rock the side from side to side and forwards/backwards. then drain the parfin. repeat a few times with clean parfin and hopefully any shit will come out.

Do not put paraffin in your engine!!

Has the cover cracked or have you ground it away? Take the cover off and look inside for any debris - mop it out with a rag.

If there's a lot of the cover 'missing' then you could change the oil and filter but if there's no sign of any big chunks or ground up paste inside then I wouldn't bother with anything else.

What’s wrong with using paraffin? I’ve flushed a couple of bikes engines with it to remove lost bearing bits and never had any problems.

Gut feeling. Unless I'd got it completely stripped then I couldn't be sure I'd got it all out. If you've used it with success then fair play.

I've only got the tiniest of holes in the side. Took a good two hours for a quart and a half to drip out. It's all sorted now, though. Ordered a new set of Vortex case covers (see image below) from Pit Posse's Yahoo! store. Should be here within the week. After that, the cheap bits and a pair of Attack Performance adjustable rearsets (again see below). Next month: Hot Bodies' racing bodywork. I love crashing...

Those bits look great, there's an upside to crashing! That's what got new handlebars on my MZ 125.

And this thread has possibly the best title EVER.
