Ok as some of you will know i have my A2 test coming up on the 2nd August. Im quite competent at my riding and quietly confident about the test, which is lucky as its far too late to get any proffesional training. so my long shot is Confused anyone interested in meeting up for a little ride out to maybe just check im ok for the test no minor niggles ect ect i would be willing to pay of course or maybe just get the drinks in at the bar. i live near junction 28 M1 and could easily meet anyone around this area or even in matlock bath. i know its a long shot but if anyones interested in helping out a fellow biker (hopefully soon to be a A2 licence bearing biker) then give me a shout Very Happy

I'm not the best person for it, but I might be able to get over to you this weekend. I'm not much good with directions, how close to sheffield are you? I'd be coming over the snake pass I think.

Don't bother riding on faster roads, as the test is all about 30mph limit residential/built-up areas. Obviously you will go on at least one NSL road, but this is not what will cause you problems.

I would offer to help you, but I'm hardly an experienced/good rider and it's been the best part of a year since I did my own test so I've probably forgotten half of the stuff you need to be careful with. I may have Friday off work, so perhaps would be available to meet you some time then - If i'm free I will be going for a rideout anyway, so could stop off in Mansfield to ride around with you for a short while. Hopefully I will be at work though(it'd be overtime, and I need the money).

Good luck with your test.

thats one fear off my mind Razz the test says it must be carried out on a machine capable of 62mph. on the TW thats screaming it in top gear hugging the tank with head down and limbs tucked it down a slight hill. that would look good to the examiner im sure

If you do go into an NSL you just need to show that you're aware of it, but within the safe limits of your machine. It's more about not accelerating until you get to the NSL, and slowing down before the next limit starts.

As has been said - the test is really about town riding - hazard perception, observations, U-turns, etc.

I assume as you live so close you will be coming to RnB... I'm sure a few of us will be more than happy to go for a ride on Friday or Saturday, depending on how badly my head is throbbing.

Me either mate.

Spent nearly the whole day before my test on NSL roads and dual carriageways, and then on the test I never went above 30mph.

Eh? Eh?

You better get practicing that turn in the road Dan.

Do you know the 'pillion taking' answers etc?
