Right, the monkeys at Honda have managed to bork 2 crosspoint screws on my CBR. How should I get them off?

They are currently attached to the throttle stop which is on the throttle bodies. They need to go back in afterwards, so they are quite important!

So the screws are out? If so just go to your local hardware/auto place that sells screws, nuts and bolts etc.

Use a flat-ended piece of bar or a drift and gently tap the ends over to 'fill' the cross-point hole up again with material. Then use an impact driver with the largest bit that will fit and give 'em a sharp tap.

And when you find that doesn't work, drill the heads off them and remove the stump with a pair of pliers.

They probably burred them off on purpose to stop you doing exactly what you are doing.

If you even THINK about putting screws back in that you know have burred heads, I will personally track you down, come round your house and give you the kick up the arse you so richly deserve on general principle.

Get them out, throw them in the bin and fit new ones! Even if they are an obscure size, a genuine honda part will only cost pennies.
