F***ing Cagers!

Hi,

Since I got the ZZR on Saturday, I've had more problems with cagers than in my past 2 years riding!!!

What is it with a sports bike?

On the ER-5 no-one pulled out on me, and everyone saw me.

The ER had a full Remus system, and it was very loud. But the ZZR has a full Micron race system Confused

I'm on a physically bigger bike now too.

Kinda worrying - making me more nervous riding through town than I used to be (perhaps not a bad thing).

What colour is it? I had my black 400 8 months and loads of people pulled out on me. I have had my bright yellow 600 7 months and not once have i had someone pull out on me. Well only roundabouts but that happens to everyone.

It's all silver and I've got black/white/red leathers and same on helmet.

At a quick glance (from a driver waiting to pull out), that colour would blend in with the road.

When I had my YZF, i had just sprayed the front end bright yellow. Stopped at my mates talking to him on his front, just about to go, I say 'no-one should pull out on me with this colour'. No more than 100 yards down the road, some granny decides to pull straight out of their drive into me, luckily there was nothing parked opposite and I could get out the way and on to the path. Then he just drove off Evil or Very Mad

I used to ride a bright yellow 400/4. At this time I was commuting and trying to be Very Sensible Indeed, so I rode with daytime headlamp and wore a flourescent strip too.

Did it stop people from pulling out on me? NO!!! Evil or Very Mad

In fact, one woman who pulled out on me happened to work at the same place as me, so I certainly gave her a sharp word or five in the car park.

My last 2 bikes have been black. I can't say I've had any more or less cagers pulling out on me because of the colour though. The simple fact is that they don't bother to look properly. I've been knocked off my bike by a woman who looked straight at me and decided I was in her way, so thought she'd knock me over!

Bloody cagers.....grrrrr Evil or Very Mad

I always hit high beam in the headlight if I'm approaching a junction with a car waiting to pull out. Just to make sure they have seen me.
Theory being that a sudden brightening of a light will draw their attention

Familiar story that. Old biddies should NOT be leagally allowed on the road - period. After 65yrs old you should have to take a driving test every 5 yrs thereafter IMO. Fair enough, some of them are safe enough on the road, and so they should have to prove it by taking more regular tests. At the end of the day, an old bean at the wheel of a 1ton+ vehicle travelling at 60-odd mph, is a lethal weapon.

I was pulled out on by an old lady in town a few weeks back in broad daylight. She was so small she could only just see over the steering wheel! I ride with my lights on during the daytime too! I gave her a blip of my horn and she didn't even acknowledge me being there!

Get off the road you old bastards.
