Good luck with your test Smile

My examiner was in a car and it was perfect sunshine, t'was the middle of october so it may have been a bit cold for the poor chap Laughing

I was told that it was up to the examiner what vehicle they follow you on/in.

It's easier if they're in a car as you forget they're there and just think they're another car driver trying to get you off the road Evil or Very Mad .

As you may tell i have a grudge all for all things four wheeled, when they're driven on road that is.

My test was in the worst rain ever and the examiner was in his car, said he'd be on his pan european but he had a broken finger. Laughing

But yeah, they'll just get you to pull over every once in a while, a few seconds later you carry on with the test.

Started snowing on my test.

The examiner was going to call it off for safety reasons but i managed to persuade him otherwise. He was on a big Pan with heated grips, A/C and a heated seat i think.

1st time the guy was in a car. 2nd time he was on a bike. While on the bike he didn't do the marking till the end of the test when we reached the test centre.

All depends on who is marking and how they prefer to do it.

My examiner was in a car (bmw). Think he had a board attatched to his dash so it would be easy to mark. Other than that i think one of those voice recorders could be used.

My test lasted about 30mins

Not on a bike surely? Cos if he's giving you instructions over the intercom you'd hear him?

I thought they just remembered it, and made quick notes during stops in the test then finished it at the end.

The examiner is allowed to test for no more than 40 minutes, so if you get stuck in traffic for half an hour there's nothing they can do about it.

You usally only spend about 30 mins riding with all the stopping you have to do.

Myself and Paul had the same examiner.

But mine remembered everything, and did all the marking of boxes at the end, he also followed on a big white BMW.

Bad thing was he couldn't really remember what my minors were for, just how many and which category they should have gone in. Therefore he offered little in the way of advice on how to improve.

He just said "it was a good ride".

I would have rathered him to say something like, you could do this a little bit better, or something.

Guess what I did yesterday? I did it with two minors, but I ran about 2 inches wide on the U-turn and mounted a dropped kerb. Evil or Very Mad Mad Embarassed Doh!

He followed on his Pan-Euro and filled the test sheet in afterwards. Being allowed to open up the Fazer on the A38 back up made up for it a little. Laughing Twisted Evil That and being asked if I could ride it to Macclesfield and back as a favour for my instructor (meeting another student for his test there), at no charge. Thumbs Up

Still, ever onwards... I just hope I can ride as flawlessly next time; I was forever paranoid about stalling it or making a complete cockup, I could have sworn I made a load of serious errors he just didn't notice. Whistle
