The only reason I do it is because a cotton T-shirt is a whole lot easier to clean that a set of leathers.
I used to spend a fortune on leather cleaners and restorers and waterproofers etc etc, now I just chuck a t-shirt in the wash. Its a whole lot easier and really does keep your leathers looking pristine.
I do seem to attract a lot of flies though. Maybe its that Hugeo Bus aftershave I got for Christmas. ____________________ Where does a turn end? I tend to see it quite often. Usually it'd be someone on an R1 wearing a Rossi shirt or something like that. Also see the likes of kawasaki riders with a Hawk Kawasaki (BSB) jumper over their leathers too.
I think it looks quite good. You still have the protection of leather but that style of casual clothing. I'd probably do it myself if I had a decent race orientated t-shirt to go over the top. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

I wear "how's my riding, call 1-800-F-Off" t shirt sometimes.
My favourite shirt is my streetfighters "explicit motorcycles" t-shirt with a motoGP patch sewn to the back. ____________________ https://www.bikepics.com/members/nsrandy/96rs250/ My Bike!

Is it just me who doesn't care if my gear is peppered with bugs?
Going on the logic that it keeps gear clean, how many people wear trousers over trousers? Shoe covers on boots?
Does wearing a tee not act like a great big parachute? ____________________ Part-time GSXR1000 pilot>Micron Serpert system+K&N, PC111, Sigma slipper clutch, Brembo m/c+Galfer discs, Gilles rearsets, Translogic Quickshifter.

I think people wearing tee-shirts on bikes is damn irresponsible, I saw someone on a cbr1zx1000000 wearing shorts i think it should be banned etc etc etc ____________________ Part-time GSXR1000 pilot>Micron Serpert system+K&N, PC111, Sigma slipper clutch, Brembo m/c+Galfer discs, Gilles rearsets, Translogic Quickshifter.

Only done it at Elvington/cadwell when there was a load of us trying to look in 'professional' in a taking the piss way .
Am looking at 'team clothing' for racing, but again to give the 'professional' look, in a (only) slightly less piss taking manner . |

I think it looks daft. Always makes me think that the person thinks their t-shirt is so cool that they want everyone to see it, which just makes me think 'saddo'.
I was tempted to wear my giant fur coat over my leathers once though, just cos I'd have looked like the Sasquatch on a bike. But I decided to sell the coat on ebay rather than get it full of flies and road shit.
There's more mileage in the coat thing actually... lent my long black trenchcoat to G once when we'd got caught out really late and he was freezing in vented summer leathers. It was comedy watching him ride along in the pitch dark on a black RS250, black leathers, black lid and a huge black coat flying out like a cape. |
