had a bit of a wierd run in tonight. i was riding the A272 just by coolham where there is a nice long straight and i was "making good progress" Rolling Eyes
in the distance i see two bikes turn at a junction facing me onto another road, 20 seconds later i arrive at the junction, which has stop signs on. so i stop and see a police car with its blues and two's on coming towards me on the A272 from the opposite side of the junction. i stop and assume that he is chasing the two bikes i saw. as he gets to the junction i figure he is going to pull me as one bike is all bikes Rolling Eyes , to which i'm not going to be happy about as loud can + no road tax (getting it tommo).
but instead he gives me the thumbs up, to which i'm stunned about and just nod back, and of he goes still in chase! really bizarre given the situation as he gives a thumbs up to a biker whilst chasing bikers Shocked
guess he may ride himself
anyone else had anything like this?

Maybe just saying "Thanks for looking at the road ahead, paying attention and not pulling out in front of me like 90% of the idiots on the road would have" ?

It is nice to see that road users are thanked for their efforts in clearing a path for emergency vehicles, as very often the case that modern drivers do not pay attention properly, and even if they are aware of the E.V., they still carry on in their own little world...

I usually just slow down and ride close to the side of the road if they're coming towards me and stop if they're coming from behind.

You really must be paraniod if everytime you see the police you have to go home and analyze their thoughts and movements.

Just because he was going the same way as the bikes you assume he is in pursuit. Maybe he was going to a job 20 miles away.
Maybe he put his thumb up to acknowledge you getting out of the way?

Maybe he was just being friendly????

Maybe he was going to the national meeting on how to piss of bikers??????????????

To be fair I'd be paranoid about seeing the fuzz if I'd just completed the dubious hatrick of...

A. 'Making Good Progress'
B. 'Loud Can'
C. 'No Road Tax'

Confused
