Rossi 1st
Gibernau 2nd
Hayden 3rd

John Hopkins had a massive high side in the first few laps and the race was red flagged. When it restarted Gibernau worked his way to the front then over cooked it into the first corner on the last lap and Rossi nipped through to win.

Looked like Gibernau bottled in on the last lap as Rossi was charging then.

It was in the northern region ....

Complain here https://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/complaints/handle_complaint.pl if you're unlucky enough to have watched on terrestrial TV in the BBC North region! Here's a copy of an e-mail I've sent ...

Quote:

Dear Sir or Madam

I'd like to register my extreme displeasure that the live BBC coverage of the MotoGP was cut short in favour of showing recorded highlights of a rugby league match - which was shown live on Grandstand the previous day.

May I suggest that anybody who was that concerned with seeing the Challenge Cup game would have watched or taped the live coverage aired on Saturday, as I did?

I was absolutely appalled at the decision to cut coverage of such an exciting and vibrant event as the Sachsenring GP, especially with the race only being three or four laps from finishing!

Yours thoroughly disgusted,

<Fruity's real name snipped>

It beggars belief when MotoGP is now rivaling F1 as the most watched motorsport in the world, that the BBC did something that stupid, especially after the flak ITV got after cutting to a commercial at the San Marino GP two laps from the end earlier in the year.

I was forced to watch the BBC coverage today (I usually watch it on Eurosport, the commentary is better) but I couldn't believe it when they just stopped it for the Rugby match. The start of which had 30minutes build up!!! Surely they could have cut into that to show the last five laps of the GP....?? Confused Evil or Very Mad

Is eurosport available on them freeview boxes because they might be a decent investment for me in university. I can plug the thing into the back of my pc's TV tuner card. Or if somebody's paid TV license for the communal area, plug the thing into there.

Gibernau seemed completely demoralised after what happened in the final lap. Hopper's accident was pretty bad, but glad to see that he was smiling in the end. Shame about the other two kwaka's that took each other out.

About as much luck as I had, used Sky+ to record it on Eurosport this morning but it overran and the recording cut out 2 laps from the end Brick Wall , saw it was on again at 7.30pm so put Sky+ on again, I went to watch it later but fuck me found a womens football match overran by 45 minutes before MotoGP and ended up with just the first half dozen laps Crying or Very sad
Finally got to see the end on the Eurosport Motorsport News programme. Mr. Green

I think that was the first time I have watched an entire moto GP race. I usually just watch a couple of laps. It was a good race. That high-side was pretty spectacular! Shocked

I think I shall have to adopt a "favourite" rider. Thinking

This is the BBC response:

We apologise to viewers in some regions of England for ending our coverage of the German Moto Grand Prix during the last few laps of the race and switching to coverage of the rugby Super League Show. The rugby Super League Show on Sunday was an outside broadcast from Huddersfield and is also very popular with viewers. It is always difficult balancing different sporting interests when covering live events, and we recognise in hindsight this was not the right decision.

Very poor IMO - the game being shown on the SL Show wasn't a live broadcast, the game being staged in Huddersfield on Sunday took place hours later.
