well as some of you know i managed to drop my ninja and have done a little damage to the exhaust/header pipe join, just wonder if anyone can give me some advice on fixing it, heres the damage

https://www.bikechatforums.com/download.php?id=19746

my plan is to take off the exhaust of and drill out the damaged exhaust banding and replace it with these if they fits!

https://www.performanceracingparts.co.uk/exparts.htm

then while its off take a file/wet and dry/autosol to the burred edges of the can and its mounding to smooth it off
the scrape on the header pipe i am a bit unsure about as the logical this is to paint it with a matt black exhaust paint, but my worry is that painting a small section will mean that it will really stand out and i am going to have to take the whole header pipes and paint them all!
what do you think?
Cheers
WN

Get some graphite paste for the painted part of the header. it's used for old wood fired stoves etc so is heat resistant & just happens to be almost a perfect match for Kaw header paint...

file/sand the scratches out of the header pipe

take your side panel off and mask as much as posibble then spray as much as possible

then when you can be arsed take the headers off and do it properly

after you have filed+wet"n"dryed the end can go over it with a drill polishing mop. did this on my chewed up damping ajuster and it looks like new.
