Hey guys,
Just bought my 2001 model Honda CG... Have a few questions...
1) There is a lock under my seat, when I use my ignition key to unlock this a pin snaps back, and I can't lift my seat off when it's undone, so I don't know what it is.,
2) I have a smaller key that was given to me with my ignition key... What's this for?
3) Where's the sightglass to check the oil? (I haven't recieved the owners manual yet )
What sort of servicing should I be doing at weekends?
Cheers,
Toby |

Not sure about any of it since I don't own one but could the lock be for fastening an helmet to?
Sight glass for the oil is usually on the right hand side of the engine, towards the back.
Small key might be for fuel tank, helmet lock, seat lock, or just to annoy you
Weekends are for riding but if you want you could give it a clean, including under the engine, check oil, brakes, lights, tyres, chain.
Get yourself a manual, if its your first bike theres a few things to learn but its better if you don't have to rely on anyone else for basic servicing or repairs. |

I used to have a 1990 CG so some of this might not be the same.
My seat locked on at the back but there was also two levers, one at each side underneath the seat which needed to be pulled to remove it. If it is the same on yours feel down the sides of the seat you won't miss them.
Mine didn't have an oil level glass but instead a dipstick on the right hand side.
Hope that helps. ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)
