Do bikes and cars camp on the same field now or are they still separate like they were years ago?

A better place to meet would be the pub at Bassets Pole.

Reasonably central. Food for any of you who've ridden miles since breakfast. Close to the motorway for you to find it, and also close to the A roads for a better route to R&B.

What do you think?

Yes I was there too Smile

I think I have left my mobile in the car, so it won't get answered (MrsH has taken it to work). I will PM you my home number so you can call me, or you can call me after about 17:30 as I should have it back by then Thumbs Up

They are still seperated - but we will have two cars with us, so we will be in the car field anyway Thumbs Up

I don't know where Bassets Pole is, so I have no idea how do-able that is. Also remember that there will be a car with us, we don't want to loose it going down a roads (all the camping kit will be in there).

However, I'm certainly not against a bit of A road riding though - I detest motorways. I'm just not too keen on making a fairly long ride too much longer.

Bassets Pole (Sutton Coldfield)

SO, J.9 of the M42, head North on the A446 until you meet with the A38, and it's on that giant roundabout there.

A proposed route could be, along the A453 towards Tamworth, then take the A513 up to the A38, then follow the A38 all the way north.

So there's a bit of nice road, but not too much to add any distance to the journey.

Nice one Anna Thumbs Up
That looks like a plan to me - I reckon we should be around that area at about 1100 or so, but a lot depends on traffic and the weather.
Both MrsH and myself are quite happy to follow as long as someone knows the way from there to Ripley.

Barely worth it for 3miles of country roads, A38 is just a straight dual carriageway.

We got back just fine too - have downloaded the pics form the camera - some really good ones on there Thumbs Up

The weekend was really good - and for anyone who has not seen The Australian Pink Floyd Show, go and see them. With out question the best out door set I have ever seen, and I have seen lots!

Overall a great weekend, although a little damp on Thursday - I will put some photos online when I work out how to drive this whole internet thing.

Had a brilliant time and made some new friends. Think the mud and rain just made it more fun.

Should have some good pics to put up. Laughing

Derbyshire Rock & Blues Festival POSTED: July 31, 2005
The rain couldn't dampen the spirits of the audience at The Rock & Blues Festival on Saturday. Warmed up by Thunder (the band, not the weather!), the crowd stayed riveted to the spot for The Aussie Floyds 2 Hour set. A big thanks from the band to everybody there for the fantastic reception.

Roger and I both had a brilliant time - glad you all got home safely... Jon was leaving muddy tyre tracks around every corner!

We've done about three loads of washing in an attempt to remove all the mud, but my boots are still booogered.

Thumbs Up for the Australian Pink Floyd Show, they were amazing (even if Jon was far too drunk to really appreciate the music, he has good memories of "pretty flashing lights").

See you all next year Very Happy
