but I suppose it could apply to all really. Have recently come back from a galloop around Europe, and literally I write straight from a well dreamt of thrash on my baby. My only problem is the revs - before it would fly into redline happily, and now it's like a drugged granny trying to get up off the sofa. It almost feels like it's restricted again. Although I can feel the bhp lower down, above 8 or 9 tho it's very unhappy. I have left this bike for about 3 1/2 months, it's been looked after, but not turned over. Have little money (due to ramble) so the mechanic can keep his hands off! So it's up to me... can anyone help? I suppose I'll have to take her insides out and do a lot of cleaning... or could it be more permanent? Help!

If it was warmed up much more thoroughly than usual and then taken for a good long thrash once up to temperature then I think it should be running fine.
May be worth putting some redex through it, or some premium fuel like Optimax.

What's redex? I leave it to warm up a lot, I'll try again tomorrow to see if it was just a glitch or whatever. Cheers

It's a fuel additive you can find for sale in all petrol stations. Costs about £3 from memory and helps clean the carb and get the engine running smoother...if you believe the hype.
I find it helps cold starts but I'm sure it does some good.
Take her for a good run and that'll be the best thing - will give the battery a bit of a charge too which I suspect will have lost some charge.

drain your fuel tank and carbs and replace the fuel.

Sounds like some water has got into the fuel, or the fuel has just gone plain stale.

Well, the battery was totally agonna, replaced that just now. What would "spit polishing" the powervalve involve? Lots of spit? Razz

Panic over, just had a hour long drive around london, properly warmed up, running like a beaut. Was probably just a bit of dud petrol left in the carb which I didn't clean out, but still gonna try this redex stuff Wink
