I got the warning stickers off my tank with a kettle of hot water to loosen the glue and an old credit card to scrape of the gum. A quick wipe over with white spirit (or lighter fluid works too I think) to get the marks off and you couldn't even see where it had been.

Did you fit the tank protector yourself?

If so did you t-cut the paintwork before you stuck it down (like I was told to do)? In which case you might have more of a problem getting it off.

When you do it, let me know how you managed it as I need to get mine off Very Happy

Auto Glym Tar, Adhesive & Grease Remover Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Excellent stuff.
I myself took an old t p off my bike last week with it.
All you do is pull off the top layer of the tp, then soak that all over the adhesive stuff left on there. After about 5 mins, put a bit more on..then after about another 5 rub off Thumbs Up
I got mine from Hein Gericke..they recommended it.

Or as has been said warm it up and remove the crap thats left with some degreaser or petrol! Worked for me! Trouble is, removing one makes all the tiny little scratches on the rest of the tank show up really badly against the nice clean unscratched bit!

Halfords steam cleaner £20 , i've taken off a good few tank protecters for various people with one , it only takes 5 mins max and leaves no trace of the glue behind.

well i removed my old one last night and after 10 mins with the hairdryer was getting pretty fed up at the slow pace of removal.
So I tried carburetor cleaner, and bobs ya uncle 60 seconds later it is all gone!
