was driving to work this evening.

felt like some hard acceleration to check out the new clutch... got to a ton, down the dual carriageway when al of a sudden....

MY FAIRING RIPPED OF THE BIKE...
the right hand engine fairing (which was of earlier in the day, but bolted back on as usual) ripped itself of the brackets (keeping all bolts inside threads) and broke all the plastic...

god knows where it went.

just glad i got another in my room

Happened to me on my nsr once. Was going along and felt something hit my right knee. Stopped, looked down and noticed i was missing a fairing. Not sure why though.

Along with any Honda 400 Laughing .

I would carefully check all the bolts on the fairing. Suspect a few were missing, such as the one at the very front underside of the fairing holding the 2 halves together, maybe with the one near the side of the radiator and the one at the bottom on the side. With these missing the fairing would probably have enough movement to move out a bit and then be torn off my the wind.

All the best

Keith

bent all the fairing brackets back into place... and fitted new fairing Thumbs Up

also... my clutch cable came out of the mechanism on the casing (chain drive side) down my road... so i had to push he bike back and remove the other side, and engine cover to attach that again...

am getting quite quick at doing it now

Hi

Is it a common problem having the cable pop out? There should be a small spring under the cover which will pull the lever in the spocket cover down a touch. Presume this hold the cable in a bit. Might be missing on your bike.

All the best

Keith

after i cleaned the inside of the cover out... i found a small peice of metal on the outside of the hook... push the cable end into the hook, then push this metal flap under the cable....

cable no longer moves... and really helps the clutch (forces lever out more... and stronger
