Out of curiosity, are there many high mileage riders among the group? I'm doing a piffling 23,000 or so a year, but are there any doing 30,40 or even 50k in a year?
If so, what's your choice of steed? |

Bah, I thought this was going to be a thread about people doing mile long wheelies . (Not that I could contribute, best is probably a tenth of that.)
Don't do very high mileage on bikes - van may well do more. I work a mile and a half away and my track bike doesn't have the speedo connected, so couldn't comment on, but easily a couple of thousand in a year on track I suspect . |

According to my clocks I've done 4000km in a year.
That's genuine! |

5000 miles since I got the bike at the end of March/start April.
I don't commute on it.. i'm onlt 10 mins walk from work.
Al miles done on evenings, weekends, or on holiday.
I tend not to do less than 150 miles if I'm out for a ride. except when I'm biking over to see the gf, that's only 100 mile round trip.
got a ride up to Yorkshire in September, which will include probably a 300 mile rideout while I'm up there, going to Cadwell at the end of the month for the BSB, and might be going up to Peterhead to see my uncle, and do some long distance rides aroudn the north of Scotland before the end of the year.

I used to do a easy 10-15k a year, luckily I live closer to work now so do less. Only done 5-6k since last Oct which is fine on my books, less boring riding and more fun riding. ____________________ My bikes are at https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/ |

I seem to do about 7 or 8000 a year on my bike. Considering I don't use it to commute on, and don't ride it very much in winter, that's not too bad. |

I've done a whopping 2500 miles on my Bandit since it was purchased in February. I'm sure if the exhaust didnt give me so many problems and I actually enjoyed riding it, I would of put twice that mileage on so far. Instead, its getting sold to fund something which I will enjoy. If I was to keep her, I doubt I'd put more than about 7000 on it.
On the other hand, I did put a touch over 10,000 miles on my 50cc at 16. ____________________ Aprilia RSV Mille R Edwards Replica - Aprilia RS250 - Suzuki GSXR600 Supersport Race Bike |

I used to do a fair bit, managed to clock up almost 40k on my old ZXR400, taking it to something like 52k. Also put quite a lot on my old KR1, about 40k I think.
Now I just ride for fun, rather than an everyday mode of transport, although I did ride in to work today (central London) rather than get the train. Was 20 mins quicker and looks like its going to work out cheaper too. So much for the governments idea of getting people onto public transport! Trains are a rip-off, service is crap, delays all the time and hot and stuffy too. Yep, thats Thameslink for you! Any excuse for a delay and they use it! |
