.............well not me, but me dad, he has just finished the complete strip-down and rebuild of his 'work bike' a kawasaki gt750.
He is now looking for a bike as a 'fun weekend only' sorta thing.
He wants a sports bike, fairly newish and he wants one either litre or bigger, he does like the zx-10 and the 'busa but also likes duke 999, can anyone recommend any other bikes to consider or any advice on any of the above??

Servicing / cost of consumables does'nt really matter and nor does practicality as he will still have the gt750 and the car for shit weather and commuting, as well as his business trips to europe / scandinavia.

cheers

Trying to think outside the usual run of the mill, see those everywhere, kind of bike and come up with:

Arrow Aprilia RSV, or the RSV Mille
Arrow Benelli Tornade Tre
Arrow MV Augusta F4S

and slightly off the wall, stop smirking at the back...
Arrow BMW K1200S

The best things about biking are scratching and touring.
There's not too many bikes that can do both but the CBR1100 Blackbird is the best compromise. All the speed you'd ever need. Comfortable even two up. Handles well enough to get yer knee/pegs down and eliminate chicken strips. And is built by Honda so it all works.

I would have recomended the Viffer but you stated he wanted something over a litre.
Other's I'd look at would be the ZX12 or even the ZZR1200. It's a shame the Big K dropped the ZZR1200. The should had put a shaft drive on it and it would have sold loads.
