I went to majorca when i was 14 and i was allowed to hire a scooter. Well officially i wasnt but the bloke let my dad get to bikes out on his bike license and the bloke said what you do with it after he had hired it was up to us. He leant me a helmet and watched me ride it off!

legally they are not supposed to but if you fine the right place and there is plenty of them about then it wont be a problem!

I went there a few years ago and from what i remember the road surfaces is some places was very bad (thing must obviously have changed) so check out the road first and if they arent good stick to a moped.

a few years ago I hired a 175 kumyo(sp?) crosser type thing.
I only had a cbt and they didnt seem to care.
Sat at 70 quite happily on the roads and dealt with dirt tracks quite happily.

Thanks for that fellas, given me some ideas. If you don't hear from me again...It's-all-your-fault.

Hey .....

Be careful read the small print in your medical insurance.

ie they only cover you for vehicles that you have a license to drive over here.

So if you don't have a full bike license and you have a crash, your f***ed, my mother works in insurance, if you don't believe me check it out.

If you a full car license and a CBT you would then be legal on a Moped .

Or if you have a full car license before 2000 (I think), you don't need a CBT and would be okay on a Ped, but not a motorbike.

You are talking to someone who came off a ped in Greece at 19, wearing shorts. What a stupid little tw*t was I.

Be careful - Many vehicle hire companies are quick to take the money from you but a lot less helpful when something goes wrong.
Make sure you check the bike over BEFORE you hand over ANY money.

Rick.
