Not quite right as you have to wear a helmet on an outfit, but no, you don't need one on a trike (although a lot of riders wear one by choice).

Only on the bike or pillion , you don't have to in the sidecar.

Yeah, the sidecar rider is optional, and on a trike no one has to. I think I would still wear one though, although I might go for something other than a traditional full face one on one.

Some trikes you do, some you don't. It is done on a measurement, I think it was either kerb weight or axle width. Over a certain weight/width there is no requirement for a helmet but there is a requirement for a seatbelt.

Most people take the (usually correct) assumption that the police neither know or care about this and wear neither. If it is over the designated weight/width you need a seatbelt fitted for the MOT or SVA test

There are virtually no regulations regarding the provision of seating, handles, foot restraints, bodywork, state of inebriation or safety equipment for a sidecar passenger. If you are sat on the bike the same applies as for a solo machine.

Technically the requirement is for a lap belt as opposed to a three point seatbelt, isn't it Stinkwheel?

I'm more than a little out of the loop however, may have changed that. Been a while since I had anything to do with trikes (owned a mantis briefly).
