Got a scorpion jobby on at the mo, but want a shorter, louder 'mini-me' version of it... how do I go about getting this done? There's no custom zorst places near me Sad

Dodgy pic I know, I was in fits of laughter from the guys taking the pics, so excuse me!

Should be easy then, just remove the end, hack off to how short you want it, then rivet the end back on again. Thumbs Up job done.

Simple, all you need to do it cut straight, or take it somewhere that has a saw machine and give em a fiver to chop a few inches off.

If its revited at the end then it'll be an easy job.

A lot of streetfighters have cut-down cans, and I helped a mate shorten his Art can by about a third of the length. Fairly simple, as I recall, but I suspect it's not legal -

1. Remove end can

2. Drill out rivets holding end cap on, and pull off end cap.

3. Watch out for the baffle and sound insulation, and note what length it is in relation to the silencer body and end cap.

4. Cut end can to required length, cleaning up the cut edge.

5. Use off-cut to mark out new fixing holes on can

6. Cut down the baffle and insulation to suit new length

7. Re-assemble and fasten end cap on with new rivets or self tapping screws.

And it WILL be louder, but it may well affect your jetting

Yeah, a few companys do them. The guy on here with the Gibernau rep CBR600 (forget his name) has one on his, thinks its an Arrow?

I love the look of them too, even thinking of starting a small sideline business handmaking the GP type silencers.

cbrbiker I think you may be on about with the 600rr!

There is plenty on eBay usually! They dont go for much so you might be better buying one from there and if it fucks up your jetting just swap them back!

Thumbs Up

*EDIT* just checked eBay and there is only one at the minute. When you dont want one there is plenty about! Just keep an eye out!

i think you get too turned on by your bike. Hell i like mine! But you dont see me going and trying to shag my tank Laughing . I could just be a stupid kid, but doesnt a smaller can usually mean less noise? How would you feel about a shorter oval carbon fibre exhaust? There seems to be plenty going around for most bikes, maybe even tart up the standard can a bit? I.E Send it off for powdercoating/anodising?

Can = silencer
Less silencer = less silence

This is a real shorty. Wink

A lad i know called Ryan, his bike, he made the can himself, took about 1 hour to chop down and re-rivvet. Do it yourself!
