I can't see anything in the dark!!

Hey people!

When i'm riding at night i can't see much light on the road from my headlights, i've tried cleaning the headlamp casings and it did make some improvements but if i am riding on a road that has no street lights i struggle to see the road in front unless a car is behind me then i can use thier lights Laughing

You think i would be able to get a brighter bulb that uses the same power as my current ones?? or would i have to do something else as in will i be able to put a bulb that requires more watts of power but the same voltage or something like tht Confused

Your lights might be directed more up , than down ,so most of the beam goes into thin air and not on the road , if that makes sense

Not sure which bike you have (the RS?) But on my brothers NSR lights are whack!! He rides with his full beam on just have the equivalent of main beam.

Worth a try mate, works for him.

Yeah i have an RS

I doubt that they need to be angled down since when i took it for MOT the guy said to angle it up more! Razz

But hey i will try it and see if it makes a difference

I got an rs , have no problem at seeing in the dark unless i forget my clear visor and have my black one on Embarassed

But rs lights are quite bright

hmm, think i may just have to change the bulb....

might just try that out! Wink

OK so plan for tomorrow is goto hein gericke and get some autoglym polish for frame, then off to motorworld to get a new bulb and hopefully by the end of the day i will post some pics of my nice shiny bike with nice bright light!! Wink

If you go through the archive on https://www.125ccsportsbikes.com/ there should be somebody who found a HID conversion for an RS125, he also found the headlights to be rather poor. Halogen bulbs will be slightly brighter than stock, have a look on ebay - there's normally some on there. But if you want a damn good set of lights, go for the HID.

I work in a trade centre and we sell halogen bulbs
Should be cheaper than anywhere else id imagine

how much would halogen lights be for an RS then??

would i need to do anything else to the bike or is it just a case of put it in and off you go?

For the halogen bulbs, you just put them straight in in place of the stock bulbs, but be careful not to touch the bulb with your bare hands - the grease from your fingers causes the bulb to heat up more than it should, and dramatically shortens its life to a few weeks.
