Hi guys, I'm 18 and I've been offered a 1999/2000 33bhp restricted r6 for £3k with 7100 miles on the clock. Just wondering what kind of money others have had to pay for these in the past. The only things I'd have to do to it would be to re-raise the suspension to standard, and get a new side stand.

£3k for an R6 is really good. It is about the same insurance group as my zx6r maybe one lower. At 17 i paid £1300 TPO with an accident. Thumbs Up

I got a quote for £1600 tpft from bennetts, and they've always been rubbish for me in the past, so I'd expect to get lower than that. Maybe pay two thirds or half of that would be good!

Craig

Try motorcycle direct, they've always given me better quotes for high power bikes, e.g. £696 TPFT on a 2001 busa even though I was 21, 0ncb and only just passed my test.

Currently got an R6 insured with them for £129 TFTP. Laughing

I did try motorcycledirect online last night, but they said I could only have a 250 for some reason. I'll try again and see what happens! I will try my current insurer though, to see how much it would cost to transfer from my NSR.

I've got a 2004 R6 and I'm 18... I paid £1039 TPFT with No Years NCB!

Try Carole Nash, thats who I'm with... I'm with Motorcycle Direct on my Aprilia RS125 at the moment and they offered me £1290 TPFT to insure the R6 so Carole Nash are somewhat better Thumbs Up

I'm with carole nash at the moment too, so I will see how much it is to transfer the insurance from my nsr to the r6. 500 pounds on top doesnt seem too bad anyway.

hmm you guys are lucky in the mainland - it would cost me 2500 for a speed triple with 2yrs ncb and a 33bhp kit

- the 250 hornet was 250+208 for full license 19y/o and 3years no claims from rampdales

-the 600 hornet was 250+1208 for full license 19 and 3years ncb from rampdales

at least its not as bad as my mate paying 800 for an rs125 with a full test and 1 year old than me - p.s. my xr125 cost more to insure than the hornet and the 600 hornet and xr125 are the same group insurance

I've now been promised the bike, I got her down from 3200 to 2800!!!!

I'm sorting out a loan at the moment, so I will be getting the bike! I just need to get the suspension reset to standard, a new end can, and a new numberplate to legalise everything. It comes with the seat cowl as well, which is cool. It is a 1999 model with 8000 miles on the clock!

A loan for 3200 should do me just fine to get it all sorted!

I'm so excited...

Must book test...

Try and get your bike garaged and alarmed bring the insurance down loads.
