Good video, pity there wasn't more 125's for him to race with though he did enjoy himself.

Pretty crazy, everyone else seemed to be having fun taking it easy and the guy on the RS125 seemed like he had something major to prove and caused more danger to everyone on the track by doing this.

One thing that scares me about track days is some muppet crashing into me.

O_O

Pretty damn crazy. Theres pushing hard, and then theres being an utter knob though - If he was like that around me, I'd wish I brought a truck instead of a bike. Just so I could run him over Twisted Evil

He did seem pretty damn quick for a 125 though!

It wasnt 'just' a 125, it probably wasnt even an aprilia RS125 but a Honda rs125, which is basically a 125 grand prix bike which on some tracks really woulcnt have a problem keeping up.

None of those overtakes looked genuine, they all looked accidental as a result of him braking too late or not hard enough. as soon as he was in some clear air he was passed by everybody, then he would VERY nearly take them out going into the next corner.

10/10 for confidence
5/10 for skill
10/10 for retardedness Laughing

Holy Moly - How Bloody close was that when he had to 'negotiate' the 2 bikes under braking into one of the corners Shocked

Cool Link - Wouldn't want him about when I was taking part in a track day though!

I think it was an rs if you watch the end when it shows you the start of the race he starts out in thr front line and gets passed by everybody, and yeah his breaking was a bit extreme but he was probaly new to the whole race track thing.

I think its the other way round. He's a very quick rider and done many a trackday at a guess, IMO.

The breaking was extreme but I think he got caught out by the guys on the big bikes breaking much much earlier than him, being on a 125. Looks like a fast group rider, riding in the inters. I wouldn't have been impressed if he did some of those maneouvers on me at a trackday.....but you gotta give it to him.

If you want some answers, just go to the website Smile. He documents all of his races and there's a lot of other video as well.

Now you see a Honda RS125 is a different kettle of fish, Something like 65kg dry (compared to 115 of the Aprilia) and 45BHP (or sub 30 on a stock Aprilia) not to mention full race suspension. Ofcourse it needs to be rebuilt quite a bit.

I still think he was being dangerously aggressive for a trackday.

I was impressed with his riding, it proved he knows how to take a bend better than most of the others, theres one bit where he had to do zig zag between to bikes, most would have smashed by this time, if it was track day then so be it, if you want to take it esy then hit the streets, track days are about racing otherwise theres no point in being there, granted some will take it easy on a track day but thats for them to choose, I dont you'll ever hear track day racers moan about another rider until there's a clash of metals and bodies

I couldn't work out if it was a 'proper' race - like a streetstocks style, or a trackday with a little racey bit.

Either way, the RS125 (and yes, it was a GP bike) knew how to ride, while the others seemed to be novice or intermediate level trackday goers.

If you stick a decent racer in with relatively slow trackday riders, you can expect this sort of thing if there's a competitive air (having seen similar (though not quite as bad difference) people in novice/inters groups when I would go in them Smile.

What skill he had went to his head and he seemed like a cock.

I hate how the chink pronounced his name at the end "richaaaa".

They always do that to me and It's like no my names richard. "yeh that what I say, richaaa"....

Yeah, goddamn them for having a different dialect Rolling Eyes.

Anyhow, I have a feeling that he was just doing some practice laps with some of the rest of the field. The article says he has the option of racing against larger bikes, so that's probably the case. Besides, the end of the video is obviously a race, so...

Waiiit a minute....as a rider who has done a number of TRACK days for the last few years I must point out that its not a race. Its does exactly what it says on the tin. Allows you to take your bike on the track away form cars, speed cameras etc. There are those who thinks its a race day and these are the idiots who go down a group to look good overtaking everybody. If you are one of these people, get yourself a license and go racing. Then see who's brave going into paddock hill 10 abreast!!...... Shocked Confused

...........Sorry, rant over.

I can remember a little 'discussion' regarding someone on this forum and another going faster than each other at a track day.

Person on other forum says "I didn't know it was a race" - another person on that forum says "It's always a race" - which was exactly what I thought Smile.

Now I /have/ gone racing and have taken padock hill with 35 other bikes all trying to be in the same position. However even before this I've always accepted that the fast group at track days can get quite intense.
Expect people to behave in Novice/Inters though.
