Wondering if someone can help me and davo out, were looking at doing trackday at the end of the month at silverstone (31/08/05), problem is that we want to transport our bikes up there on a trailer but all we can find seem to want a testicle from each of use to hire one. would need to collect it on the 30th and drop back on the 1st sept. ideally someone based around the M25 area would be great! Thumbs Up

Otherwise van hire is very cheap?

260 mile round trip, and then 100-150 miles on track? Seems like a stupid concept Razz .

I have had my new bike a matter of a few weeks and put like 2000 miles on it!

Which had a bald back tyre on the bandit!

and that was a 600+ mile round trip greg-an-ory

and I didnt rent a van, I paid a friend (black knight) off this very forum to do it.

260 miles and then all the miles on a track - it's not like riding up the bloody motorway; ride a 20 minute sesson hard on a track and you will know about it. Do that all day and you will ache. What's the point in adding 260 miles on top of that? Plus, sign on will be at 7:30am, so they'd have to get up at about 4am and get home at about 8pm. Go for it, if you're a masochist!

Plus, I think you'll find WN's ZX7R a touch less upright and a lot less comfortable than your ER5!

The main reason for wanting it, is if we bin our bikes it'll be a bloody long walk home, at least with having the trailer, we don't have to worry about that as much.

though saying that did a 180 mile stint on it the other week, i only had to see the physio 3 times to get my back straight! Very Happy
as davo says its for the security of binning it factor, i would rather be riding it round a track thinking about my riding, instead of thinking well i have to take this a bit steady as i have to ride the bike home! plus a van big enough to hold to bikes is going to be a lot of cash! Rolling Eyes

If you did bin it, I only live 45 minutes from Silverstone and do have a 1-bike trailer. I could pick it up and store it until you collect it. As long as just one of you crashes... Laughing

I did a Silverstone trackday last year riding up from by Boxhill. It's not that bad if you go up the night before. I don't know all these 'big-bike' owners scared of mileage Razz

not worried about the mileage, more worried about the binning it aspect! Twisted Evil
