Ok I know nothing about brake pads, but I plan on buying them online and fitting them myself for my NSR.
The front ones are just about gone.
What size do I need?
Is any particular make better than another or is there even different makes?
Any place to buy online you can recommend?
thanks.

Go into a bike shop and ask for pads to fit your bike. Its that simple!

EBC pads are good.

No, cos I'm not paying the exaggerated prices a dealer would charge, when I could get them online and pay a lot less.
And also gain the experience of being able to fit them myself.

www.wemoto.co.uk,
they have lots of parts for most bikes, particularly hondas. I looked up the specific page for the 93-onwards uk spec nsr https://shop.wemoto.com/index.dyn?oid=25218 your pads should be those ones on there
ebc sintered pads.

wemoto are excellent.

I am lucky to live quite close to them, and they are very helpful and 99 times out of 100 always have the parts I need for my bike. Their prices are very competitive too.

I can vouch for wemoto - I have bought a lot of stuff from them. I did get a new rear shock for my ns125 from them and had problems fitting it (it was slightly too long). I called them up and the guy who answered just said "i will get a mechanic to phone you straight back", and one did.

I bought my disk and pads from www.ebcbrakesdirect.com and they were resonably priced and next day delivery.

Whats the difference between standard and sintered?

Do brake pads come as a pair or would I have to order 2x?
Going for wemoto I think...

I think sintered pads offer better stopping power over standards, not sure why though. They do come as a pair - you will need to order them for each caliper i.e. two brake discs, two sets of pads.

Sintered prefered for racing, greater grip but then greater (faster) wear. Different materials/metals used. Standard is your 'all-round' type of pad.
