PostPosted: 16:33 - 16 Aug 2005    Post subject: 2 bikes [FOR SALE] (dt125 & thundercat) - open to offers Reply with quote

Right in an effort to clear our drive way a bit I have decided to sell my thundercat and DT125R.

Hoping for a fairly quickish sales, so if anyone is interested in either of them make me an offer.

<edit>
I'll give it till the 26th aug, 10 days and who ever has made the highest offer on each bike will get them. Viewings welcome. Pictures pending...
</edit>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arrow Yamaha YZF600R Thundercat (96) (black) (trackbike)

This bike is a trackbike only, is a write off and can not be put back on the road. The price I will let this go for will reflect the fact that it can not be used on the road. However the bike is straight, I have used it for 7 or 8 trackdays in the last year.

Under 5k miles done on bike, but as it has no clocks I can't prove this.

Super Corsa trackday compound tyres.

Down geared with renthal sprockets.

HH front brake pads.

New (second hand, standard) rear shock.

Otherwise in standard trim.

<edit>just rembered the fork seals are leaking on the cat, but I have replacements, just haven't got round to fitting them; shouldn't be much hassle to do. Also forgot to mention the yokes have been dropped down the forks 15mm for the track.</edit>

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Arrow Yamaha DT 125 R (91) (red & white & black)

No tax, mot just valid (i think, will have to check)

Currently doesn't run. I suspect this is an issue with the 2 stroke not getting to the engine, but don't have the time or inclination to sort it myself atm. Was last running about 3 months ago.

Not sure of the milage, but will check when I get home.

Just had new piston and cylinder re-bore.

Race pipe of some kind.

On looking the bike over while taking this pic I realised the mirror is cracked and the left plastic bit that goes opposite the bit of plastic the can be seen in the picture covering the exhaust is missing.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you are interested in either of these please feel free to make an offer, I'm not expecting mega bucks for either, so 'bid' away. Thumbs Up

How about a 'buy two and get a SR for free' offer? Smile

If people need the bike(s) delivered a sensible distance I could do this for a 'reasonable' fee - please discuss with me first though.

I paid £800 for the cat.

I've spent a bit on it though; decent tyres @ £200ish, new (standard) rear shock (that I forgot to mention in the original post) @ £50, pads @ £20 or so, sprockets @ £40 or so....

As the bike is a write off; I will not be expecting unrealistic money for it. I've had the use of it for a year, so I don't expect to get back what I spent on it.

So make me an offer, if your offer is the best I've had in the next couple of weeks it's yours.

The cat has also had two oil (castrol R4) and filter changes in the 12 months that I have owned it. Plus a brake fluid change. As I said it's done 7 or 8 trackdays in that time.

<edit>I live in Reading.</edit>

Ok, how come it was a cat A right off, what was damged?

Does it mean it will never be able to be road worthy?

I was thinking of starting to do track days so i would still be interested.

cheers Thumbs Up

I bought it as a cheap trackbike, the guy I bought it off didn't know why it had been classified cat A.

It can't go back on the road.

But as a cheap trackbike, it's a fair bit of fun.

I dont really want to spend alot on a track bike because i dont think i will end up doing that many in a year.

If you'd like to come and see it feel free. Thumbs Up (I'll try and get some pictures up soonish too).

Fairplay, I'll give it 10 days, so on the 26the of this month, the person who made the highest offer gets the bike. Viewings are welcome, the cat can be seen running.

Hi, im wondering where abouts you are, im located in kent myself and im really interested in that DT125 for getting on the road. I currently have a shitty lil 50 (and im 22 lol) just started in the world of 2 wheels, i would be happy to pay £250 tops for the DT... I get paid from work on the 25th of this month.......

I'd also be tempted to PX my moped for the DT... Dunno if u'd be interested i've added a pic anyway.

Do you have any other pictures of the bike?

Thx in advance

Phil
