Hi all,

I am a newbie who just bought the above mentioned scooter, and being completely clueless about bikes in general, i have a few questions that i hope you guys can help me with.

1. What kind of engine oil and what brand of oil do you use for the phantom? The manual mentions a 'Q8' oil, but i do not think that is being sold anywhere in the uk?

2. My Speedo cable is supposedly spoilt. Can that be easily repaired by a lay person. I've seen the cable being sold online and i thought i would be able to save some money...

3. How do you open the filler cap? Do you unscrew it? I tried unscrewing the cap but it seems to be screwed on very tightly! I rode motorcycles about 2 years ago, and as far as i can remember, the filler cap should come off quite easily! (Sorted! I wasn't using enough strength.... Embarassed )

Thanks all.

I seem to remember my filler cap was rubber so you just pulled it off with a bit of a twist.

Shell Advance Scooter was the oil I used most of the time, but I'd stick anything with 'scooter' on the label in when I couldn't get that.

You can get Q8 in the UK by the way.
